So Thankful for the Animal Shelter - My Name is Hattie When I arrived at the animal shelter, I was truly a mess. My fur was filthy, I was much too thin, and both of my eyes were in terrible shape. I was suffering from entropion, a painful condition where my eyelids turn inward and my eyelashes rub against my corneas. It hurt badly and required surgery to correct. Even though I came in as a "train wreck," the shelter gave me the care and compassion I desperately needed. I've now been spayed and have also tested heartworm positive, so I will need a family who understands the importance of continuing my care and giving me the love I deserve. I'm still a young girl at around 4 years old, and I have so much life ahead of me. What I want most is a real home - one where I will be properly cared for, truly loved, and made part of the family. I'm not looking to be just a dog left out in the backyard. I'm looking for a place where I belong. If you're willing to open your heart to a sweet girl who's been through a lot and is ready for a second chance, please ask the shelter staff about me. Love, Hattie
