Meet August-and Discover What a $100 Adoption Fee Includes!

Well, hello! My name is August. If you have already read my friend Avery's story, then you know that we share very similar backgrounds-including the same troublesome habit of chasing cars and, unfortunately, the same heartworm-positive test result.

But here is something you may not know: the adoption fee at West Memphis Animal Services is only $100, and it includes an incredible amount of care:

Spay or neuter
Microchip
Age-appropriate vaccine series
Deworming
Rabies vaccination
Heartworm testing
Heartworm treatment when a dog tests positive

Yes, you read that correctly-my heartworm treatment is included in that $100 adoption fee. Man, oh man, what a bargain!

The shelter truly cares about every animal who comes through its doors and wants each of us to succeed in our new homes. While we wait, the staff provides medical care, photographs, adoption biographies, temperament assessments, enrichment, exercise, and as much individual attention as possible.

Avery and I will need homes with secure fencing, supervised outdoor time, and patient families who can help us understand that roadways and moving cars are dangerous. In return, we will bring plenty of love, companionship, and personality into your lives.
